These days there is an incredible variety of products available for the toy and model train enthusiast. However--sometimes there is a catch.....or two.
| ■ | Modern train manufacturers and dealers no longer carry much if any backstock. New products constantly replace old and when they are out of stock it may be sometime before they are available again...if at all. |
| ■ | More and more products in the train lines are made one time only. As the saying goes "if you snooze you lose!" |
| ■ | Many items are announced in advance. Often far in advance. A dealer has to place an order in anticipation of demand. The manufacturers use these advance orders to determine production. |
| ■ | Occasionally dealer and customer advance orders do not meet the numbers a manufacturer considers necessary, the item is re-cataloged and production is delayed until more orders come in...or the item is sometimes simply cancelled. |
| ■ | Unfortunately manufacturers will sometimes "short ship" dealers (deliver less than ordered) if demand exceeds supply. |
| ■ | To provide a way to insure that a customer can purchase the items in which they are interested we offer a "Pre-Buy" Program" to allow customers to book an advance order that guarantees availability when the items are shipped (see above terms). Please be aware that sometimes items can actually "sell out" through the Pre-Buy Program before they are even manufactured. (A deposit is usually required for a Pre-Buy). For O-Gauge products patience is also required! |
| ■ | The two largest O-Gauge manufacturers, Lionel/K-Line and MTH Electric Trains, each publish two catalogs a year and these catalogs are typically introduced in Febuary and August |
| ■ | Each catalog features a combination of items, some of which will be made in the next 3 to 18 months and some are currently available items. |
| ■ | Unfortunately the catalogs rarely identify which ones are which--or when they might be available. Tenative shipping schedules are available on each manufacturers website. |
| ■ | We offer a Pre-Buy Program in which a discount is offered for newly cataloged items in each new catalog with the following conditions: |
- 20% Partial Payment at time of order (non-refundable and non-transferable).
- Balance is due upon shipping (items will be shipped as received).
- FREIGHT IS ADDED AT TIME OF SHIPPING.
- Shipping dates are as stated by the Manufacturer, and are approximate.
- Texas residents will be charged 8.25% Sales Tax (after adding shipping charges).
- We try not to make mistakes, but sometimes they occur. Our actual cost and M.S.R.P will determine the final price of each item.
- We prefer Credit Cards (MC, Visa, Discover) for ease of processing your order. However, we also accept cash, checks, or money orders.

We think this is one of the better catalogs Lionel has produced in a long while.
Of course, we’re partial to the Texan Set, with the FT A-units, Twice-Around track, good looking freight cars, plus the 2-pack add-ons. The VISION line continues to produce outstanding stock, upgrading the line with new sounds, effects, and details, and the Canadian Pacific Evolution Hybrid diesel engine with Legacy RailSounds is a stunner.
On the fun side, look at the M-497 Jet-Powered Rail Car (the “Black Beetle”), new Coca-Cola and Hershey cars, the Koi Fish Aquarium Car, the BNSF Whale-scheme Gondola 3pk, and another go-round for the ’57 Girl’s Set. You military guys will get a kick out of the Operation Eagle Justice set in modern urban camouflage. There’s new freight cars for Thomas, three new cars for Halloween, and the Boy Scouts Set should actually arrive this May!
American Flyer introduces the beautiful Rio Grande Alco PA A-A set, plus passenger cars - a set that AF should have made years ago. K-Line by Lionel continues to add to the Ringling Bros. line, plus adds 2 Railroadster vehicles to SuperStreets. And the Napa Valley Wine Train is back, this time with 15” heavyweight passenger cars!
There’s really a lot more neat stuff that you’ll have to check out.
